I am so sorry to hear that Margot has passed. Even though our interaction was brief, she was an inspiration to both me and my cause. May she rest in peace. She will be remembered.

I am so sorry to hear that Margot has gone. It grieves me to remove my phone alarm that has been my reminder to pray for her each night…. I look forward to when I will get to meet her face to face but for now, I will keep you, her family, in my prayers. May God hold you in His arms and comfort you as you miss her beautiful presence in your lives. Once, again, thank you so much for sharing your lives with us.

WOW, I’m heartbroken……….may you rest in peace, beautiful and strong Margot. I was hoping for that miracle, but I’m sure God has something else planned for you up there. I’m really sorry for your family, specially your mom, dad, your husband, etc……but I want to let them know that ever since I came across this site (via Flor), I’ve been amazed not only at your strength but also at theirs and the love, real love, that all u guys were surrounded by.
Margot, you and your family fought until the last day with all your hearts. Even if God decided He wants you next to Him, I promise u that you’ll never be forgotten by all of us people who have been praying for u every day, because you are special and because even if some have never even met u, they felt they loved u, and that only happens when somebody is really special.
You seemed to be an angel on Earth, because your words and actions made u look like one. And now you’re a star in Heaven. The shiniest. The prettiest.

My condolences to Mike and the rest of the family. Keep praying,keep loving, keep the faith, keep strong.

Margot I want you to know that I do believe that if you in your heart,mind and soul believe that you can get better it will happen and i do believe that somehow we are all connected to one another. I am sending you a lot of good energy, good feelings and I am praying for you so that our Lord will heal you. I prayed for you this weekend with all my heart and when I saw you today I knew God had answer my prayers. I admire how strong and beautiful you are. All my personal problems are nothing compare to what you are going thru and you have helped me to feel better. Thank you for sharing your life with all of us. Miss Margot,I wanted to thank you. 5 weeks ago I felt like my world was crumbling below me when the doctor called and said I needed to have a biopsy done. For 5 weeks i had so many emotions, i felt sorry for myself, angry why this was happening and how it could happen. I just started grad school and was ready to give it up. You have always been an inspiration and role model since the first day we met 11 years ago. You helped me find my inner strength. I love you dearly and have been praying for you to also have a good news day.

I had a rod removed from my left libia on April 28, and am walking normally with minute pain (mostly discomfort). I feel humbly grateful to God and our Blessed Mother, for hearing the prayers sent my way by family, friends, and St. Mel’s parishoners who have been praying for my recovery. Margot, I feel closer to God today, than I have felt before in my 69 years. I read the comment from Emily Watson; I to have been into holistic medicine most of my life.
Faith…I say this prayer often through-out my entire day.

“A PRAYER TO OUR BLESSED MOTHER”

Take my hand, O Blessed Mother
Hold me firmly ‘least I fall
I grow nervous while walking and
Humbly on thee call.

Guide me over every crossing,
Watch me when I’m on the stairs

So I just read your post (3/21) and what can I say. How awesome. Thats great news. I was driving to work the other morning and listening to some great African folk music and some of the melodies and lyrics were so haunting and beautiful. The tingles started and soon my whole body broke out in goose bumps. What an amazing feeling, the energy was just flowing and at that moment I thought of you and wondered how you were and offered up some of that good energy and redirected it your way. Im so happy I remembered to stop by today and pay a visit.

Sicness and desease come from the Devil, God will allow things to happen to strenghten us and to show himself strong. Jesus Christ died for you and for me. Believe in Jesus he bore our sickness and decease. I believe you can be healed. Margo, it has been a long time since we have last spoken in High School, but memories of you put a smile on my face. I can remember the funny times where the teacher would scold us for talking, not paying attention, copying homework, or just being class nuisances. Most of the time we just quietly laughed because we didn’t care about getting in trouble.

Margot, We have not heard from you since the day after surgery.
I want to tell you my 8 yr old niece had brain surgery and she had some odd stuff happening to her for a few weeks post but it all went away and she is fine now. So in case this is happening to you…know that it will subside: vertigo, blurry vision, temper tantrums (from steroids given to reduce swelling) hot flashes, painful sensation on skin from nerve endings, and limb coordination issues.
I love you and send you love and energy all day long. Also, San Ramon stinks without you in the area. Barbara

Dear Margot,

I don’t know you but read what you wrote with the absolute certainty that you were going all right. The cure is in yourself, not only in the love of others. You must believe with all your heart that you are one of the few complete spontaneous remissions taking every year. These remissions do take place and doctors cannot explain them. You must be one of these saved ones and will be if you believe it strongly enough.

An update from Margot dated 1/31/2011.

I owe an update to all of my beautiful friends, family, guides and gentle souls that have gathered with me in my fight to heal and save my live my life. I may not know some of you, but I ask that you please open your heart and accept my gratitude and all of my love so that you do know that a person living in California is so touched by all the blessing that have the simple connection of the heart. Of being “one” with humanity.

….I don’t have to go back into the logs where Mike, my husband, updated the blog to know that perhaps it did not start out all that well… but for the sake of it, let me read the first sentence:

12/6/10: We had left our desert home on December 6th for a doctor’s appointment at USC, having no idea what we were in for.

That says enough.

The reality of life is this. My day to day existence has become a challenge, there are beautiful days that I awake and know exactly why I am here and that in the scheme of life, the universe is going to be fine. No matter what that leaves me with. Nothing is going to take away the fact that I’m here at this second breathing, smiling, staring at the people that make up my entire life and carry my happiness, no matter how bruised on their backs. …It didn’t start out that way this morning. I woke up in the middle of the night, wondering why it was the 4th time I’d had to change shirts because of soaking my clothes with a fever that my body is trying to eliminate. Less than 36 hours I was laying on my stomach having what is called a spinal tap injected with chemo at USC. Not fun.

The body can endure, cannot it not? The question is can the mind? I’ll keep this short and sweet as I fatigue quicker than what I would like….

What does my cancer feel like. It started as breast cancer. No big deal, at lease looking back now – for me, It was an easy thing!

But Lepto…What is Lepto? How does it feel like? Nobody has really asked me, and the only people that do know the answer probably know because they have been in the doctor’s appointment with me while explain the symptoms….

Imagine your brain, slightly opened up while somebody drops rice down your insides of the neck. Then it becomes a little tense and then it’s just a paralyzing feeling that causes you to stop where you are standing, hold your head – hold out until you can get your feeling and then you let it pass. Maybe you played that funny little game in high-school. Hold your breath while the other person made you back out…Hmmmm…well, there you go!

The “grain feeling” may pass onto your left (in my case) chest, and then cause a “numbness and tingling”. You just wait. The episode may only last a few minutes and then you return from your “space odyssey”.

I have to say, if this is the worst that it will be, I think I can one day accept it. I just know I have a very long way to go.

Physical symptoms are one thing. Emotional, another specter of what it means to be sick.

Then there are the relationships that this disease has honored with me. I need to give thanks to my husband, Mike Murphy – not Duke, the dog that does happen to be the love of my life – but by no means signifies as my soul mate, nor my advocate, my rock, or the man that I trust my life with every morning when I awake. I’ve said this before, unless you are the husband of a cancer patient whom you sleep with every night, give drugs out to, establish multiple networks of doctors – please know this is has got to be the hardest and most difficult job for a man, human, mother, person… My husband, Mike Murphy, has this job. So in praying for me, please take a minute and pray for the man that gives me so much to hold onto and makes fighting for my life a little easier.

Short and sweet my friends. Sorry. I’m tired.

Dear Margot,

You are absolutely right in every sense in what you write. About 5 months ago, the son of a friend got in a horrible car accident and practically was given up on. It was not believed by most people and doctors that he was going to make it. HOWEVER, our close group of friends somehow had such a strong feeling that he WAS gonna make it. We spoke out to the universe every day and I personally felt deep down that he would was gonna be ok.
More and more people started following his story on facebook and more people got connected to him every day. All the love and good thoughts into the universe created a very special energy that has manifested for him to indeed survive. He is still alive and doctors speak of a miracle.
My prayers are sent to you and for me you are on your way to recovery and good health. You are going to defeat your cancer because you can feel it and therefore I can feel it.

This morning like every morning that Nicole is with me… It is all about rushing to get her ready for school… Today driving her to school I notice her eyes were closed… and I said Nicole Isabella what are you doing.??… Nicole ” shhhhhhhs mama quiet I’m talking to auntie Margot’s cell so they become nice and healthy so she can play with Duke….’.WOW my heart just melt! Today was a great day!!! For all 4 of us!! Best in a long time!!!
Margot-No pain medication, she has decided to fight this thing with all she has rather than take narcotics, this is a brave decision, a lot more on this later. She is breathing better and coughing less, her energy is a little better, although she is fighting a little depression, who wouldn’t. She walked Duke a half a mile and visited for an hour, she is still extremely beat up, tired and a little depressed, yet she is much stronger and better than yesterday! Keep reading I have an idea to share.
Mom-We all have a mother, children or both, most of us have someone or something they would give their life for, a mother is that person, so any day Margot makes progress has to a great day for her mom!
Duke-Other than a serious gas problem, I would say a complete recovery from his prostrate problem.
Mike-Like her mom I am encouraged and excited by her progress today, she is not laughing at my jokes yet though, Margot and my mom were my best audience, maybe my only one, when I can make her laugh again I will know we have totally turned the corner. Today I went on a hike with a wonderful friend, how do I know he is wonderful, he let me bitch and complain about every bad thing that has happened the past 3 months, he just listened and let me vent, that was a great mental and emotional cleansing, that are what friends are for, although he did ask if we could wait a month until we hike again, I’m still thinking about that . Then I ran home checked and checked everyone and went and did 90 minutes of Bikram Yoga, I only mention this because that is when my endorphins flow and I get an occasional good idea! I hope you have watched the video on this site, what used to be theory is now science, our thoughts and feelings are things and we can shoot them out into the world, so when my heart was beating it’s hardest, that is when I sent Margot healing thoughts and I had a feeling that she was NED, and I sent it to her. NED, no evidence of disease! Here is another scientific fact, our cells can’t tell the difference from reality or our imagination, so when you focus on Margot’s healing, see her NED, feel her NED, send her these thoughts and feeling, especially when you are clear and vibrating at a higher frequency, no I am not nuts, Google it, Jesus did what he did because of his innocence and purity, he vibrated at higher frequency! So tomorrow I am going to Kinko’s and making posters of Newspaper headlines that say things like Doctors Amazed, Margot Murphy NED-No evidence of disease!! Google it, watch the video, I am dead sober, no nothing, crazy maybe, but who isn’t these days….Thanks for all of your Love, Prayers and Support, tomorrow I want to share how I would like to give back just a little of what we have received from all of you…..peace and love……mike

What a day! If you look at my earlier update, it was pretty gloomy around here earlier. Our oncologist at USC called our oncologist in the desert at 10:00 to ask them to arrange to have Margot’s lungs cleared of fluid, he was out and his nurse was supposed to do it, well by 1:30 she hadn’t called and Margot could barely breathe, so her Mother and I took her back to the hospital she was just discharged from. To make this short I will cut to the chase, after waiting two hours she got some oxygen, 3 hours later they pulled a doctor back who was just leaving, he and the nurses then removed 3 quarters of a gallon of fluid from the pleural sac around her lungs, when I saw the full bottles I was shocked!!!! No wonder she couldn’t breathe, one of her lungs had shrunk to a third of it’s normal size. For eight years I have been there for almost every procedure, this may have been the worst of them all, after they drained the fluid out she could not catch her breath for 5 minutes, she felt like she was drowning, this is the first time I have seen her have a panic attack and only the second time I have seen her cry in pain. Now the good news, she feels so much better, Thank god! I said earlier in my update and I told her this morning, for some reason I feel like this is the bottom for a while and some healing is about to take place, I don’t know why I feel that but I do. Thank you all so very much for all of your love, prayers and support, you don’t know how much it means to Margot, and I hope soon she will be able to tell you herself…all of our love and best wishes to all of you…….m

“I am grateful and love my Doctors for what they have done, yet the only weapons they have to destroy ‘my crazy cancer cells’ are to poison them, burn them or cut them out, I feel and believe that with your help, we can love them to death or convert them to a normal existence.”

If I may Margot, I would encourage you NOT to identify with the cancer as “yours.” True, the cancer is there and has afflicted you for years, but do not claim it as yours. It’s just cancer, it doesn’t belong to any one person, but it is there.

My prayer is that your faith and gratitude for your healing in advance heal you completely from the crown of your head to the soles of your feet. I am reminded of the story in the Bible of the woman that had been afflicted with the issue of blood for twelve years – she had the faith and hoped against hope that she would be healed if she just touched the hem of His garment. He was in a throng of people, yet when the woman reached out and touched the hem of His garment, He felt power leave Him and inquired as to who touched Him, His disciples told Him that there were many people about them, pushing and shoving their way through, but He knew that there was a touch that was different – the woman came forward and He said to her, “your faith, has made you whole.” You are on the right track Margot and I pray and believe with you that your complete healing is just a matter of time. May God continue to bless you and heal you from the inside out. May all the glory in your healing be attributed to Him.

My dear friend, you have got to be one of the greatest person I have ever met. (Even tho I just bumped into you by mistake in the hallway) and you flipped me off. But hey, who remembers that anyway huh? Nobody could have talked me into putting on a silly superhero outfit in the middle of summer. ( I still suffer from heat strokes to this day..thanks) But hey, the left side of my face is over rated. The drooling bothers my dates. But it was worth it, I got famous! Your words touched me at a time when a member of my family is also suffering

My mother was diagnosed out of the blue with stage 4 cancer. They told her to prepare her affairs…. She had a tough time with surgery, chemo and radiation….
That was 13 years ago. I can’t keep up with her.
She is strong and in better shape than some 18 year olds. Skis, bikes, hikes—

We have never met, but i too share your beliefs.

Hola Margo,

The day I heard about your situation I could not sleep because it brought back memories of the difficult time we experienced at home with my beloved Mark. I know exactly what you and your family is going thru. But within those difficult days there was this enormous love, care and compassion from our family and friends and even people we did not know that well.

There is no one week that I don’t think about Mark. I talk about him and remember him all the time. I always mentioned him to our son… if Dad was here he would have said this, or done this or he would have been so proud of you.

You probably are thinking why me? But none of us are immune from this horrible desease. It can happen and most likely will happen to many of us. I just wish that they will find at least a better way to treat it.

I will join your family and friends in praying for your recovery. Have faith, it is important that your spirit stays strong. And please know that you are not fighting this alone. We are all with you. There is magic and miracles in loving and being loved. God bless you.

Dear Margot,
Whenever I doubted myself back in the day- you always said “Dom, you’re strong, don’t you forget that.”
All I can say now is -back at you Margot and I’m so glad I always have had you as a shining example!
Each night that I meditate, I picture the unhealthy cells blowing away in the breaths I imagine as wind. I think of better days in the past where you gazed at your husband for the first time, played with your boxer puppy or sat by a pool in Kona with me and Ali.
I also picture future days where I see you happy, energetic and ready to scale the next mountain with those capricorn horns of yours.
You know I love you but know that my husband and children consider you family always. Duke and Mike too.
Your journey is ours and because of you we are all the better, stronger and more hopeful people.

Hi Margot,

My name is Tommy and I am a friend of Flor. Last year, my wife was diagnosed with stage 3 brain cancer and she went through all the treatment for the whole year. Last week, she had another MRI and result says that her cancer cell are stop growing. We never give up and took all the treatments and I love my wife so much and we have 2 beautiful kids. As soon as we found out the problem, I gave her more love, more understanding and I stay with my family as much as possible. Today, I told her about your situation and we are with you. We love you so much and don’t give up, there will be a medication on the way and all cancer will cure. Again, we love you and we are with you alway…..

Hello Margot, My name is Emelie Watson and my daughter Junell went to school with your step-son Mike. My daughter who has the biggest Heart forwarded you to me. I tried to connect with you three years ago when I heard about your situation. I guess now is the time for us to connect in the flesh, since yes… we are all one.

Here is what I would like you to do… please stop using the word “Cancer” take it out of your vocabulary. Stop saying incurable!!
